Sri Lanka’s tuk tuk drivers support impeachment against Chief Justice

"SHAME! Madam Excellency" ~ placards in English and Tamil

All Island Three Wheeler Driver’s Union held a protest recently in Colombo, in support of the impeachment of the Chief Justice Dr.Shirani Bandaranayake. Three wheelers which took part in the protest had massive size red and yellow placards and stickers in Sinhala, Tamil and English. Protest began with offering of Purple Lilly flowers to the Lord Buddha statue at the Viharamahadevi (Victoria) park. Three Wheelers took the streets in Colombo.

“The Chief Justice Shirani Banranayake should stop performing her duties, until the probe ends” Lalith Dharmasekara, said President of All Island Three Wheel Driver’s Union.

Hundreds of tuk tuks took the streets of Colombo with colourful placards. 

This is not a rent-a-crowd, we are honestly interested to see an independent judiciary in the country”, shared Sunil while driving his red colour tuk tuk during the protest.
